jigsaw notes
So today in class we started on "Jigsaw notes" based on camera movement. Out of 35 camera movements my groupmates and I had to split them up and I got 10 of them. The 10 camera movements that I got were fade in, establishing shot, wipe, jumpshot, expansion of time, 180° rule, long take, J cut, graphic match, rhythm editing, and spatial editing. In my notes I listed what the camera movement was and three ways that the camera movement can be identified for example jumpshot is an ad rep transition used typically in a sequential clip, makes a subject appeared to jump from one spot to another without continuity, and occur when come cutting between two sections of footage shot from the same exact camera angle. Below I have inserted a clip from YouTube showing a Jump cut.
